He stays mostly on the defensive, drinking in what habits and patterns his partner here liked to use. Guts' use of his prosthetic arm is just as skilled as his footwork, well used to parrying and working it around blades and other weaponry. The blows he sends back are heavy - easily enough to rattle the metal of his bat. It is thoroughly unpleasant business if it connects with flesh, though he isn't looking to beat his opponent back too hard from the get go.
