Granted, Dan knew to be afraid of angels well before he met Sam; one doesn't get raised on a steady diet of prayer and fundamentalism without realizing that the biblical angels aren't cute and cuddly like the ones on Hobby Lobby Christmas ornaments. He just didn't believe they actually existed. "I was hoping you had some less lethal ideas. Shooting them seems to work for killing them fine, but I got a soft heart."

The fact that he manages to say that through gritted teeth in the middle of trying to yank another cupid's arrow out of his thigh is a testament to that.

He asks, before the one under Ric's bed tries to make a run for it and Dan lunges forward to snatch it up by the ankle, shoving it into the hamper bag just quick enough to avoid getting his thumb bit off. The cupid squalls at him from inside the bag with the others, but before it goes in, it gives Sam a nasty, hurt expression, like someone betrayed. How dare Sam - a lover! one who knows the rush of endorphins and pheromones that binds the heart! - let Dan manhandle it, this poor little cupid?
