Remus had done a lot of experiments recently with what he might have left. Which was pitifully little, really. The knockback jinx was pretty much the one offensive spell he had. It would be enough to possibly get them out of the room, though, so the word was on the tip of his tongue.

Still, there was a moment of shock when Sirius said he wouldn't leave Remus behind. Shock that he couldn't keep off of his face. It didn't matter that Remus himself had already said that he wouldn't leave Sirius behind. That was just him. But it was impossible for him to consider that the man who had sold out their best friends to the enemy that killed them would be willing to risk himself for...for Remus.

His heart soared before he could tamp it down, push those feelings back into their boxes and lock them tight, though he couldn't stop himself from swallowing hard before looking away.

There was a tense moment as Sirius finished, then the drones offered some clapping and a few more murmurs, settling to talk amongst themselves before the room twisted and they found themselves deposited in the hallway once more. "I am never going to get used to that feeling without a portkey."
