Ronan should have been sitting like Saturday was, soaking up someone's anger and reflecting only disinterest. Now he felt the way others had when faced with him before: even more pissed off.
"You don't know shit about him." He folded his arms and looked at the drones, expecting them to not like care for this outburst.
They were still rapt.
"Fuck you, too."
Less rapt but still not violent. It was like they knew something was bubbling under Ronan's skin and for once it wasn't only anger.
"Fuck," he swore again for good measure. "My father kicked us out of our house when he died. If just one of us went back ever, we'd lose everything. I told Declan we needed to fight it. That couldn't be legal. Our mom was stuck there." Ronan took a breath.
His father hadn't known how he'd die but he knew what would happen. He knew Aurora would fall into a coma. He knew that his sons wouldn't be able to visit. He knew (or Ronan thought he did) that Ronan would eventually find a way to undo it. But why do it in the first place-- just so Ronan's powers could grow? Some fucking test when Niall Lynch had never taught him in the first place?
"He rolled over and gave up. I had to come up with a loophole that let us get it back."
