Let's get the party started!
Who: Everyone including YOU
What: Pride month celebration!
Where: Mess hall
When: First weekend of June, after the brain quest.
Warnings/Notes: Probably alcohol, language, might lead to sexy stuff
Ah yes, Jennifer is in pure delight. Back in her day, this wasn't a thing and now not only she, who will romanticize everything, gets to celebrate love, she gets to witness people be happy as they celebrate with her. She waves happily at whoever enters and nods towards all the available material.
There is indeed lots of booze, which one wouldn't expect from Jennifer but hey, Price helped. There's rainbow cake, and biscuits with the flags on it. Before everyone arrives she innocently asks one of the staff members in the kitchen if she can eat a lesbian one. There's a box with pins and facepaints. Some people are sporting funny or sexy costumes. She is wears her usual hairdo, but decorates it with a rose, paired with a simple white dress. She drinks her tea and is happy, and just a little bit too clueless of what can happen during these kinds of celebrations...

The idea of celebrating all of this is rather new to her, too (she can't recall the last time she met an Eternian who cared enough to put a label on who they loved), but - when in Romn, as they say.
She's not at all dressed for the occasion, so she immediately starts rummaging through the box of pins, so she can find something at least a little properly festive.
"Do these all have different meanings?" There are an awful lot of color combos in there, after all.

"Aye, they sure do. Honestly, they probably coulda done with puttin' out a guide, 'cause clearly not everyone here comes from some place where they have 'em."
Cammie, for her part, has a rainbow pin attached to her shirt. The robotic rabbit ears attached to a ring around her ponytail react with her as she speaks.
"Pretty sure I can identify most or even all of 'em. Lookin' for a specific meanin' or just curious?"

She taps a finger against her chin a few times, thinking it over.
"But if I had to describe it, I think I'd say that it doesn't matter to me? Sex, gender, race...none of that feels so important when someone's spirit is so bright it's dazzling."
no subject
"Ah, well, yer in luck, there's a couple that fit the bill, dependin' on personal definition usually; there's some overlap." She digs out a bi and a pan flag pin to show her. "Bisexual, pansexual—think some would say pan fits the bill best, but honestly, I've known people to just pick based on which flag's colours they like most."
She could get into the nitty gritty of it, but what's the point in potentially further confusing someone who comes from somewhere without the labels?
"Puttin' words to it's pretty important where I come from, but not everyone uses 'em and figurin' out which suits ye best can be confusin'. Fuck knows I dinnae ken what to use, but the rainbow's kinda a catch-all, and who doesn't like a good ol' rainbow?"

Hey, it's got a nice shade of blue that goes with her hair, anyway, so it works both ways?
no subject
"Nice choice." Cammie smiles. "There's a lot of terms with overlappin' meanings but very different flags, so it can definitely help if yer stuck. It's as good a reason to pick one or the other as any."
"I'm Cammie, by the way. Don't think I've seen ye around before now, guessin' ye only arrived recently?"
no subject
Not that life has been in any way not a lot, even before she got here, but.
"My name is Dana. It's a pleasure, Cammie."
no subject
"Nice to meet ye, Dana," Cammie says, then with sympathy: "It sure is a lot. First day's rough, but hey, least the party's on. There's worse things to come out of that whole arrival shite to than cookies and stuff."
Like being thrown right into a mission. That'd suck. She's pretty sure that happened to someone with the Clarksdale mission, actually.
"I've not been here all that long maself, compared to some of the others anyway."

The fact that Jorgmund had such a smooth routine for it isn't terribly promising for their chances of being done with it soon, but she doesn't want to make any assumptions.

Cammie sighs and her ears flatten backwards. Unfortunately it's not the most encouraging answer.
"Far as I've heard from some of the others, probably at least a year? Maybe more? For what it's worth, people're—" she pauses, glances around to make sure no Jorg ears are in listening range, then coughs and continues, "—people're working on it, but, yeah, least a year. Which obviously sucks."
